Listen, Sis. There was a time when I had no control over my emotions.

It was not that long ago when I was experiencing a roller coaster in my mind, body and emotions, trying to get myself together.

13 years ago, after a traumatic experience with stage three cervical cancer, I had a 2 year old daughter to take care of as a single mother. 

I felt helpless, I couldn’t work, didn't know how I was going to pay my bills, and money given to me was taken from me the same day I received it. I asked myself, “how did I get here?”

I knew deep down inside, there was more to life than this. I knew my potential had to be greater than what I was seeing manifest before my eyes.  

After completing treatments for radiation and chemotherapy, I began to feel a jolt in my spirit. I just couldn’t sit still and allow my life to just happen. I had to see what life could really bring. Something within me stirred up with a belief and hope that I could push through all of the trials and tribulations I was faced with over the past few years during treatment and subsequently thereafter. I made a decision and began to write out a plan. 

I started sharing my story, although it wasn't easy at first. However, I knew there were others who could benefit from it, just as someone once helped me with their story. I knew my story could show others how to press through shame, guilt, insecurity, PTSD and depression to living a life with confidence, self-love, new found vision and purpose so they could walk into their divine destiny. 

Sharing my story was the onset of me starting to speak, coach and birth out my nonprofit organization and my first book, Love After Cancer. Love After Cancer was my expression of bringing the H. E. A. T. to the world through Hope, Empowerment, Affirmation & Transformation. During one of the most challenging seasons of my life, I was finally able to give to others what I felt I was lacking. 

Now, fast forward to today...

I've been featured in local newspapers, TV and radio stations, in my local hospital’s calendar, in a local cancer fashion show and have spoken dozens and dozens of times for various audiences. 

Sis, I have also developed a business I'm passionate about and love where I get to make a mark in the lives of hundreds of women across the nation and even some parts of the world.
