Saying Goodbye to Our First Ever Adopt A Survivor Recipient and Friend

Words cannot express nor do they seem adequate enough to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Shannon, our first ever Adopt A Survivor Recipient and friend.

Her warm smile, awesome conversations, spunk, character, creativity and desire to give back to others to name a few will never be forgotten. Family, friends and the Serenity, Courage & Wisdom Family will always cherish the beautiful memories we shared with Shannon. I pray in the midst of the deep sadness many feel at this time, that we all will find comfort in all the joyful memories shared.

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget"

To the family: We pray you will receive peace that will bring comfort and courage to face the days ahead. We love you and are grateful to have you in our lives. It is Shannon who brought us together. For that we are thankful!

As I said yesterday after finding out about Shannon I reflected on making every moment count from this moment forward being in total gratitude and thinks for everything that I have been blessed with down through each and every young beautiful strong courageous woman that I've met here I will never from this moment take my life for granted I will make it a conscious effort every day to live a meaningful purpose-filled life and in those instants when I feel as if it's too much I will look back and be thankful over and over again for this moment in my life and I won't take it for granted to the family my heart my prayers and thoughts are…
